General Description
Location: The port of Manzanillo lies at the head of Bahia Manzanillo on the E side of the mouth of the Massacre River. General overview: Manzanillo was built by an American banana exporting company in the 1950's, but was abandoned many years ago. The pier has undergone extensive repairs. Traffic figures: Approx 50 vessels exporting fresh fruit, mainly bananas, are handled annually. Load line zone: North Atlantic Seasonal Tropical Area, Tropical Nov 1 to Jul 15, Summer Jul 16 to Oct 31. Max size: LOA 213.3m, beam 36.5m, draught 10.6m.
