General Description
Location: Gythion is a small port situated at the head of the Gulf of Laconia in southern Greece.
General overview: Gytheio is the largest and most important town in Mani. Gythion comprises a deep water anchorage and an artificial harbour for the use of coasters, fishing vessels and small craft. The port serves the town of Sparti, 36km N. The port connects the city of Gythion with the Islands of Kithira and Crete (Chania) also with Piraeus as well as being a port of call for Cruise ships operating in the Eastern Mediterranean. There is the only berth with the length of 140 m and 8.0 m draft.
