Location: Dumaguete is located on the SE side of Negros island. General overview: The city of Dumaguete is the capital of Oriental Negros and main distribution link for southern Negros Oriental to the other ports of the archipelago. Dumaguete has 3 subports. At Larena (09°15'N 123°35'E), Tandayag (09°30'N 123°18'E) and Guihulngan (10°20'N 123°20'E). The principal cargoes handled by the port are basic commodities such as rice, corn, sugar, timber, copra and fertiliser as well as passengers. Traffic figures: Approx 1,824,000t of cargo, 21,000TEU, 35,000 vessels and 2,734,000 passengers handled annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: LOA 150m, 8,600GT, draught 6.0m.
