General Description
Location: The Port of Currimao is located on the northwest coast of Luzon Island, in the province of Ilocos Norte.
General overview: The Port of Currimao encompasses the area of Gaang Bay and the cove known as Port Currimao. It serves as an international port of entry and facilitates cargo operations through the use of lighters at the anchorage, although the shelter provided is limited. During the northeast monsoon, vessels are unable to anchor off the mouth of Laoag River. The port is utilized for both international cargo and cruise ship operations.
The main types of cargo handled at the port include fertilizers, feldspar, petroleum products, and cement.
