General Description
Location: Concarneau is situated on the SE corner of Baie de la Foret at the mouth of Riviere du Moros, on southern coast of the Brest Peninsula, 60 km. WNW
of Lorient.
General overview: Concarneau is the third most important fishing port in France, also main European port for tropical tuna fish. Facilities for repairs, ship construction and for handling dry cargo and tanker tonnage. The Port of Concarneau includes the Port of La Croix located to the west of the La Croix Lighthouse, an outer port and an inner port separated by the peninsula on which is Ville-Close. The Lanriec Passage connecting these two port areas is maintained at depth 3.0 m. and marked by five light towers.
