Location: Athinios is located on the southwest side of the island, about 8km (by road) south of Santorini’s capital town of Fira, 20km south of Oia, and 9 km west of Santorini airport. General overview: Athinios Port is a sub port of Thira (Santorini). It is a ferry port, also known as the “New Port” or “Thira Port.” The Old Port of Santorini (aka Skala) accommodates cruise ship tender boats and some private tour boats. It is the only port on Santorini with regular passenger ferry services linking the island to Athenian port of Piraeus, Cyclades and Crete. Load line zone: Summer.
