General Description
Location: Located 40nm SE of Sfax, approx 30nm E of La Skhirra.
General overview: Ashtart is an offshore tanker terminal, comprising three berths. It consists of 5 platforms and is operated by Serept.
A storage tanker on an SPM and a separate SBM located 1.25nm NW of the latter. All three units are connected by submarine pipelines and cables and lies within a restricted zone marked at the E, W, N and S extremities by lightbuoys (cardinal).
Traffic figures: Approx 1,056,500t of crude oil exported annually.
Load line zone: Summer.
Max size:
- SBM: 150,000 DWT, min 35,000 DWT.
The largest vessel handled: "Kristin Tasia", 148,000 DWT.
