General overview: The port has an outer harbour of approx 76.8ha and an inner harbour that is formed by the navigable portion of the Ashtabula River. Navigation season is from Apr 1 to Dec 15. Traffic figures: Approx 8,922,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone: Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for ships of 100m or less in length, Winter Nov 1 to Mar 31, Summer Apr 1 to Oct 31.
