General Description
Location: The Port of Arendal is situated on the south coast of Norway, 60km northeast of Kristiansand.
General overview: The Port of Arendal is a port of call for medium-sized vessels and is safe in all weathers. The port has good facilities and handles various types of cargo including oil, coke, wood pulp, aluminium, sika and ore. The port handles containers, dry bulk, palletized cargo and lo/lo worked cargo, and navigation is open all year round.
The port has 13 wharves, mainly used for the operation of general cargo/bulk carriers, with a total length of about 913m and a water depth of 18-33m. Ro-ro berths and container berths will soon be completed and put into operation.
In addition, there are three oil tanker berths outside Arendal, capable of accommodating three 2500-3000 DWT oil tankers.
