General Description
Location: The port of Anqing is located at Anqing City on the N bank of the lower reaches of the Changjiang (Yangtze) River in the Province of Anhui (abbreviated to ''Wan'').
General overview: Anqing, the capital city of Anhui Priovince, is the only deep water port in the province and is considered a multi-functional regional hub port incorporating domestic and foreign trade. The port handles only small vessels and tankers which carry crude oil for the local refinery. Other cargoes handled include general cargo, cement, coal, grain, ore, timber, containers and chemical fertiliser.
Vessels up to 10,000DWT may use the port depending on conditions. The port of Anqing comprises three port areas, Anqing, Huayang and Zongyang port areas, managed by Anqing Harbour Bureau, local transport administration departments, local shipbuilders and manufacturers.
The port area is bounded by the Wan river mouth and Xijia Village. It has an overall length of 12.8km of which 9,600m has been developed, a water area of 3,070,000m² and a land area of 600,000m².
