SHIPNEXT facilitates digital interconnectivity between Ports and Ships

SHIPNEXT facilitates digital interconnectivity between Ports and Ships

The Administration of Seaports of Ukraine (AMPU) and the online Shipping and Transportation platform – SHIPNEXT – will create a unified system of digital data exchange, which will allow online calculation of the time the ships approach the port as well as facilitate automatic inward and outward vessel clearance through connectivity with a “Single window” platform operating throughout Ukrainian ports.

“The Administration of the Ukrainian seaports and the online shipping platform SHIPNEXT are starting to develop a digital data exchange system for ships and ports. The main goal of the project is to create a service that will allow online calculation of the time the vessels approach the port. Thanks to this, the captains will be able to choose the optimal speed of approach to the port, so as not to spend extra fuel and time waiting on the raid. And port administrations will have the opportunity to significantly increase the efficiency and accuracy of ship traffic planning in port waters and mooring operations” the report said.

According to the head of SE “AMPU” Raivis Vetskagans, a single digital system will be created to automate the flow of port documentation, increase work efficiency and minimize the human factor. He added that an analogy of such a system works in the port of Hamburg (Germany).

According to the director and founder of SHIPNEXT, Alexander Varvarenko, the system is designed as a single online platform for servicing all types of cargo, conducting all types of operations with them and ships, so attracting an array of information about ship calls and port infrastructure owned by the AMPU is very important for both sides and promising for the entire market. Using the system for its participants will be free.
