Location : Kherson is located in the mouth of the River Dnieper, approx 90km from the Black Sea coast. General overview: The port handles oil products, general and dry bulk cargo. Ice-breakers are required to keep the port open throughout the year. Traffic figures : Approx 2,000 vessels visit the port and 2,000,000t of cargo handled annually. Load line zone : Summer Zone for vessels over 100m in length and Winter Seasonal Area for vessels of 100m or less in length, Winter Dec 1 to Feb 28/29, Summer Mar 1 to Nov 30. Max size: Length 200m, draught 7.6m FW. At tanker berths max LOA 125m.
